.: reflection for GCYC. *beware. longggggggg post (: :.
hey family! (: hahah. im here to blog my reflections on GCYC.i felt that the sessions that i attended as very good. although i did not want to go for it at first, but since i alrdy paid for it, so i decided to go!and thank God, i did not make the wrong choice of not going! :Di felt what God wanted to teach me or remind me from the GCYC is actually 3 basic points that pastor has been talking about.1. Always thankful!2. Always victorious!3. Always be a blessing!i will slowly touch on each point and relate it to what i felt i learnt. (:these may be 3 very simple points but i felt that much could be related to this GCYC and much cold be learnt from these points!1. Always thankful!
As the different nations were presenting, i felt so proud for each of them! Although they did not speak very good english, but they were really trying hard. Could tell that they were putting in so much effort to make their presentation interesting. (: As i looked through their ppt slides, something came into my mind. You could see that there were a lot of problems in their countries but one thing that was so amazing was that they were still so thankful with what they have! With so many unpleasant things happening in their nations, they were still able to give thanks to God! Singapore seems to be a place with so much peace and security as compared to other countries. Often, we focus too much on the blessings given to us that we tend to forget the blesser! Singapore is a safe, secure place! we always take things for granted and only when the worst hits us, then do we realise that there is a God looking out for us! When problems arise, we do not know how to see the blessings that we have, and we just focus on all the unhappy things. I believe, by God being there to watch over us is alrdy a blessing! However, we tend to overlook this point! (: Through all these problems, the Christians from the different nations, have such strong reliance on God! However, for Singaporeans, we sometimes drift away from God because we think that our nation is safe, and thus, there is no need for God to intervene. I believe, the learning point here is to ALWAYS GIVE THANKS IN ANY CIRCUMSTANCE! We must learn to rely on God more and lets not focus on the blessings, taking things for granted! But really appreciate the blessing by giving thanks to the blesser, which is Daddy God! (:2. Always victorious!
Even as we started praying for the different nations one by one, i felt a strong sense of victory rising up in each one of them. Their faith in believe God for a better future and a revival of their nationis really so strong! i believe God hears their cries! We receive what we believe! =D Through them, i really see what is claiming victory even before victory comes! I really can sense their victorious spirit of believing God through the things that they requested to be prayed over for. From this, i learnt to always have a victorious spirit, knowing that you will win because God is with us! (:3. Always be a blessing!
To me, i feel that the foreign delegates coming together with us has made a difference. Indeed through them, i believe we've learnt a lot ad they've been a blessing to us. On the 3rd day, we went out around Bukit Merah to bless the residents. The foreign delegates went along with us. Although some of them are doing it for the first time, and the fact that they were not well versed in english made it difficult for them. But i believe that God is leading them and they are moving by Spirit to bless the households in Bukit Merah! (: As i saw them bless, i felt so encouraged! It doesn't matter where we are from, but whether or not, we want to impact and transform lives to be a blessing is most important! (: Although 100k is over, but i still urge everyone to continue being a blessing to people around us. I believe through the foreign delegates and through this experience of GCYC, i am so blessed!!!! (:To God be the Glory!!!!:D
LOADS OF LOVE,
ADELINE (:
